Generic Name: Cefadroxil
Presentation: Tab 125 mgx 10’s
Indications & Usage: Soft Tissue and skin infections caused by Staphylococci or Streptococci, pharyngitis, tonsilitis and urinary tract infections. Ear , nose, throat (ENT) infections and osteomyelitis.
Dosage & Administration:
Cefadroxil is the para-hyroxy derivative of cefalexin and is used similarly in the treatment of mild to moderate susceptible infections. It is administered by mouth and doses are expressed in terms of the anhydrous substance.
Usal dose:1-2 g is given daily as a single dose or in 2 divided doses.
Usal Adult Dose: 500-1000 mg twice daiuly ( 12 hourly ) for a period of 7-14 days.
Children: Recommonded Dose: 30mg/kg body weight in 2 divided doses and duration varies from 7-14 days. >6 years:500mg twice a day; Infants <1 year: 25mg/kg body weight daily in divided doses.
Doses should be reduced in patients with impaired renal function, ususlly when the creatinine clearance is <50mg mg/ml. |

Generic Name: Cefuroxime USP 125 mg & 250 mg tablet
Presentation: Axet-125 : Each film coated tablet contains Cefuroxime Axetil US equivalent to Cefuroxime 125 mg.
Axet-250 : Each film coated tablet contains Cefuroxime Axetil USP equivalent to Cefuroxime 250 mg.
Indications & Usage:
Axet is indicated for
1. Upper respiratory tract infections: Noes & throat infections such as sinusitis, tonsillitis and pharyngitis.
2. Lower respiratory tract infections: Acute and chronic bronchitis, acute exacerbations of chronic bronchitis and pneumonia.
3. Uncomplicated skin and skin structure infections.
4. Uncomplicated gonorrhoea.
5. Genito-urinary tract infections: Such as pyelonephritis, urethritis and cervicitis.
6. Early Lyme disease.
